Leicester (Ratae Coritanorum). Although William Stukely trained as a doctor, he is best known as an antiquary, particularly for his work at Stonehenge and Avebury. He published this map of Leicester in 1722. It shows the eighteenth century town with the imposition of the walls of the Roman town of Ratae Corintanorum.
